Michael Coffey , Director of WGP Strategies, has over twenty years’ experience in the international energy and water sectors as company executive and consultant. Prior to forming WGP, he was Group Strategy Director at RWE Thames Water, and before that spent several years leading M&A deals for the German Utility RWE AG in the oil, gas and power sectors across Europe.
Earlier, over a six year period in the global energy practice at Booz Allen and Hamilton he led strategy, restructuring and change projects for major energy corporations and governments in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia. During the 1980’s he worked for British Coal, and was the CEO’s strategy and political adviser during the era of electricity and coal privatisation.
He has an MBA from INSEAD and a BA from Oxford University, and speaks Italian, French and German.
